Kilimanjaro day hike, is ideally for those travelers who have a a tight travelling schedule who can’t afford to hike the whole mountain for minimum of 5 days to 10 days or if you are travelling with children who are not ready for the full hike yet but still want to have a glimpse of this beautiful mountain.
Marangu Gate (1,980 m) | Mandara Hut (2700 m
Walking approximately — 16kms in 8 hours over the montane forest and low alpine zone (moorland).
Depart early from the hotel around 0630hrs in Arusha / Moshi, and start to drive to Marangu Gate via Moshi town.
After packing all the needful stuff, you will continue with gate formalities you will sign in at the park office and your Chief guide will work on other Park formalities, and straight away start your hiking through the beautiful landscape of the mountain forest, little streams, and waterfalls.
Short breaks on the way while getting needful information about flora and fauna you may come across.
After 3 – 4 reach Mandara hut (2,700 m) for your leisure lunch at the one stopover camp of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro.
After your leisure lunch, you will gently start to descend to Marangu gate, around 1630hrs you will be out and signed out at the park office.
Start to drive back to Arusha town / Moshi, arrive in the evening at the hotel for your dinner and overnight.
