Welcome to Lake Manyara National Park, which is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, lions that can climb trees, a soda ash lake that draws hordes of pink flamingos, and one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations. This travel guide gives you the most recent details on getting there, lodging options, Lake Manyara attractions, and much more. Enjoy your Tanzanian safari!

Lake Manyara National Park, which is in northern Tanzania, is 126 kilometers west of Arusha Town. The park’s 330 sq km (125 sq miles) total area includes a 230 sq km (89 sq miles) lake surface.

The Park is divided into a number of areas. The narrow area that protects the region between the escarpment and Lake Manyara is hidden behind the beautiful scenery of the Great Rift Valley’s steep escarpment in the west. The alkaline Lake Manyara can swell and contract with the seasons thanks to the silvery bowls of salt deposits. Its immediate neighbors are grassy floodplains, and at the far end are bands of mixed acacia woodlands. Additionally, there are stretches of continuously green forests next to the escarpment that are irrigated by the escarpment’s perennial underground waters.

You will be fed meat, potatoes or rice, and vegetarian meals for dinner.

Travel with Deo Safaris advises visiting Tanzania throughout the year. However, the dry season (late June to October) offers the best climatic conditions, with clear skies and low humidity, making it the best time for safaris in Tanzania or for climbing Kilimanjaro or other mountains.

Due to its proximity to the equator, Tanzania experiences seasonal temperature variations. Although it is usually warm here, temperatures can drop sharply during and after rainstorms as well as at night. The coastal region experiences year-round heat and humidity.
